As their culminating project, the Music Business Program class at SAE Institute Chicago developed an exhibit celebrating the 25th anniversary of Pigface, a notable super group in industrial rock led by Martin Atkins, the Music Business Program Chair. The exhibition launched at 2112 Inc. Studios with a reception on Thursday, March 31, 2016.
The exhibition showcased custom artwork, memorabilia, and even the first punk suit donned by Martin Atkins. SAE Institute student, Tracy Tiongson, who was also the Project Manager, spoke to Ear Hustle 411 and In The Loop Magazine, who cooperated press coverage for the event: “To be able to be part of this celebration of not just 25 years of Pigface but of awesome memorabilia that all had such cool stories behind them. Great vibes and great people came together.”
Each Music Business Program class produces a capstone project to emulate real world scenarios, and carry out an event from initial planning and marketing to execution. Previous class projects included a studio takeover, a mobile concert atop a double decker bus across Chicago, and an EDM set inside Chicago Transit Authority train cars on the Brown Line.
