SAE Institute Atlanta hosted the Women in Engineering discussion on Friday, February 26, 2016. The panel included SAE Institute Atlanta graduates Daniela Rivera, freelance engineer, and Amanda Davis, FOH for Janelle Monae. Also featured on the panel were Silent Sound Studios Manager, Melisa Vice, freelance engineer, Courtney Horton, and Mastering Engineer, Martina Albano. The seminar was inspiring, spirited, and open to the public.
All of the female engineers on the panel are graduates of their respective institutions from 2010 or later. Each panelist shared their school experience and what led them to pursue a career in the audio industry.
dditionally, the discussion circled around how these successful women are proving themselves with their work, dressing for their jobs, and outworking others in what is still considered to be a male-dominated business.
These women are proof that the industry is certainly changing for the better.
